An Ancient Technology Poised for Major Profits

From Baltimore – Occasionally, something ancient becomes new again.

And in the world of investing, it can be extremely profitable to spot such trends early and get on board.

That’s something Chief Trends Strategist Matthew Carr specializes in. In today’s Market Wake-Up Call, Matthew discusses the most recent “ancient” trend he’s discovered with host and Associate Franchise Publisher Rachel Gearhart.

But first, a little ancient history.

Humans have been using cannabis – the flowering plant that produces both the psychoactive drug marijuana and the fiber hemp – since prehistoric times. The Greek historian Herodotus describes marijuana steam baths in his 440 B.C. book The Histories.

In fact, marijuana coevolved with humans over thousands of years.

Cannabis was outlawed in 1970 when irrational fears about it prompted strict laws forbidding its use.

But that couldn’t last.

As expected, state by state, marijuana began to become legal once again in 2018.

And Matthew spotted that trend early on – back in 2016 – and began preaching about the enormous growth the cannabis industry would soon experience. He made his first cannabis stock recommendations in 2017, long before it was on most analysts’ radars.

Last year, the size of the cannabis industry exceeded sales of toothpaste and the revenue of the NBA, and it’s poised to eclipse sales of craft beer and prescription pain medications in the near future.

Another Ancient Trend

Now Matthew’s looking closely at another market that is just emerging, and he predicts it will turn into a $100 billion opportunity.

He calls it “Living Medicine,” something that’s not quite animal, not quite plant. In fact, it’s psilocybin, the psychedelic compound found in a rare species of fungi or mushroom.

Like marijuana, this substance has been used by humans for thousands of years. It too was outlawed by the government in the 20th century.

But researchers have recently discovered this substance can be used in small doses to effectively treat several conditions that plague human societies. A few afflictions in particular – drug and alcohol addiction and treatment-resistant depression – appear to be especially good candidates for this ancient medicine.

Best of all, treatments using this Living Medicine can emerge and be approved more quickly because humans are so familiar with it, Matthew says. He expects some of these treatments to hit the market in just the next couple of years

“We’re just at the beginning stages… and up ahead this will be a disrupter,” Matthew tells Rachel in today’s video.

“This is a major opportunity that, 10 years from now, I think we’re going to look back and [say], ‘Wow. I’m glad I invested in Living Medicine.’” He says there are now 12 clinical trials underway involved in this promising healthcare innovation.

Matthew’s trading service Trailblazer Pro specializes in the most cutting-edge industries. Because Matthew often spots these industries and companies so early, this service often sees outsized returns, as these technologies and trends can go from zero to hero in months.

He spotted and recommended Sea Limited (NYSE: SE), a hypergrowth e-commerce and gaming stock, very early, and the stock rose 177.13% in five months.

He also recommended call options on DouYu International Holdings (Nasdaq: DOYU), a Chinese interactive gaming and entertainment company, which gave readers a win of 117% on a partial position in just three months. This was a partial gain where Matthew took money off the table early, but a very real gain nonetheless. And it demonstrates the power of identifying trends before the market does and acting on them.

Matthew’s picks this year (positions he’s opened in 2020) have outperformed the broader market (as measured by the S&P 500) by more than 71%.

Now that’s a trend you have to like.
