Hello, and welcome to Gold & Resource Profit Hunter. I’m Sean Brodrick. I’d like to take a few minutes to introduce myself and tell you a little about my trading service.
I’ve worked at The Oxford Club for the past three years as the Resource Strategist. I take an intense boots-on-the-ground approach to stock analysis. As you can see, I am standing in front of a working silver mine right now. I travel the world inspecting companies and mines. Even before joining The Oxford Club, I spent years trekking from pole to pole, looking at resource companies of all types. This gave me experience I could never have gotten sitting in front of a computer week after week.
And one thing that is plain to me is that resources are cyclical in nature. Cycles can be shortened or extended. But the cycles remain a core foundation of price movement.
The good news for you as an investor is that gold and miners ended 2015 at the bottom of a long multiyear down cycle.
Invesco PowerShares studied data since 1973 to show how commodities typically go through a boom-and-bust cycle every seven years or so. What’s more, the greatest gains usually come in the first two years.
The latest “boom” started early in 2016. And that means even the initial uptick probably has a long way to go.
The bull market should last at least five years. And it could extend well past seven thanks to the preceding bear market, which strongly discouraged investments in new gold mines.
This current rally may be “the big one” indeed.
But that’s the big trend. How do I pick winning miners that will ride that rally?
One part is fundamental analysis. I find great mining companies have five traits in common: good management, good real estate, sound financials, untapped opportunities and an executable plan.
These traits are part of “stock fundamentals,” which are part of a much larger analysis I do of each pick.
I also look at companies from the bottom up to separate the wheat from the chaff. Important fundamentals include operating margin, change in earnings, insider buying, strong versus weak balance sheets and much more.
I also use a technical indicator. It’s called Aroon.
I often refer to it as The “Golden Light” Indicator but let’s use the technical term here. Used in concert with other criteria, it gets the stocks in the sweet spot of my investing universe.
Now, to get started, all you need is a brokerage account.
Every stock rated a “Buy” in our portfolio has met my criteria for selection. No one stock is better than the others. Any and all are worth adding to your portfolio based on your investment needs. You can look forward to new recommendations in the days and weeks ahead.
