** Good News From the New Frontier

Since last Monday, our shares of NDS Group (Nasdaq: NNDS) have gained roughly 5%. Not too surprising, as it’s agreed to be taken private for $63 a share. We’re moving NDS to a “Hold,” as additional profit from current share prices ($61.65 as of yesterday’s close) is negligible.

Shares will continue to inch up towards the buyout price, and the recent move up in price reflects the near certainty of a deal. Once shares are purchased, New Frontier Trader subscribers who bought the stock when we first recommended it last October will tuck away a respectable gain of 21%.

Our Chilean fertilizer and lithium miner, Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile S.A. (NYSE: SQM), moved slightly higher in the past week. We’re now up nearly 24% from our entry point less than three months ago.

While many farmers around the world have suspended fertilizer purchases in light of the current economic crisis, the move is seen as largely psychological. The economics of food production – and its need for fertilizer – remains attractive.

Both China and India have multi-year fertilizer purchase agreements with all the major fertilizer manufacturers, with the effect of keeping a relatively high floor under global prices. Shares remain an excellent buy at these levels.

Longtop Financial Technologies Limited (NYSE: LFT) announced it has signed a contract with S1 Corporation, a global financial and payment solutions provider. Longtop will assist S1 in providing an integrated solution to a leading commercial bank in Thailand.

This represents one of the very first ventures for Longtop outside China, and indicates acceptance of Longtop’s products and services by the global financial community. Keep buying.

We’re removing our “Hold” on shares of Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. (NYSE: FMS) as they continued to inch higher last week. Quarterly earnings will be announced on February 19. Dialysis is a recession-proof business and Fresenius has a leadership position in both treatment and the sale of associated equipment.

Our newest recommendation, Shanda Interactive (Nasdaq: SNDA) is up over 5% in just over a week. Shares moved up so fast, in fact, that subscribers were unable to get a fill on our options recommendation. However any pullback in the markets could send options prices down, as they are typically much more volatile than the underlying shares. Shares are still a worthwhile buy at current levels.
